The word that came to mind was 'ego', so I went to thesaurus.com to explore it (as one does).
Ego – noun
Synonyms: character, psyche, self, self-admiration, self-pride, selfdom. Hmm.
Arrogance – noun
Synonyms: airs..... chutzpah..... hauteur, hubris (oh dear)..... pretension..... pride (oh dear, oh dear)....self-importance.......
You get the picture.
Psyche - noun
Definition: innermost self; personality
Synonyms: anima....character...essential nature, individuality, inner child, inner self, mind.....self, soul, spirit, spirituality.
That's more like it.
I am doing this for me. If anyone else wants to read it, they are welcome into my mind, my essential nature, even my ego.
